Claims of religions of peace reveal themselves as not only ludicrous but delusional. One only has to pay attention to current events and remember the historic roots of Christianity and Islam to know that peace is not their prime objective. Surely, I don't have to list the evidence to support my claims! Historical records of slavery within religious communities can clearly be cited, or oppression of women sanctioned by religious dogma, or the vile hatred of homosexuals, bisexuals, transgenders, with sanctions of theological traditions.
Have you ever seen a secularist burn crosses on lawns, or bomb churches, or prohibit women from participation in community affairs, or threaten GLBTs? If non-believers do think or act in such primitive ways, other non-believers step up in protest.

Liberals' Quest to 'Rehabilitate' Christians

I'd been lucky not to know of townhall.com until today.  I'd been lucky not to know of this douchebag Matt Barber until today.  Apparently this guy is the vice president of a group calling themselves the "Liberty Counsel".  Huh.

Well, at least he's creative with the insults.  To quote:

He then goes on to "support" his claim of the homofascist regime's assault on Christianity by citing a complaint against a bakery in Oregon that refused a request for a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.  Wow.  I mean, cake, that's...  That's serious business.  Can't even have some good ol' fashioned gay-bashing with your cupcakes these days, sheesh.

Get the not-so-thinly-veiled threat? Christians have a right to own a “successful business” in Oregon, so long as they don’t, well, be Christian – so long as they shelve their faith and submit to our ever-”progressive” government’s anti-Christian demands. “The goal is never to shut down a business,” but either you abandon the Judeo-Christian sexual ethic and dutifully observe postmodern sexual relativism, or government will shut you down in a Sodom and Gomorrah minute.
Brad, Rachel, Laurel and the rest of you left-wing bullies need to get this straight (so to speak): The godless left has been trying to “rehabilitate” Christians for over 2,000 years. We haven’t caved yet. What makes you think we will now? Those of us who wish to remain obedient to God will not – indeed, cannot – accommodate you and play along with your sin-centric “gay marriage” delusion.
Ain’t gonna happen.
Ever.
Look, you have every right to dress up in two wedding gowns or two tuxedos, get pretend “married” and play house to your hearts’ content. You do not have the right, however, to force others to abandon their sincerely held religious beliefs, thousands of years of history and the immutable reality of human biology to engage your little fantasy. No amount of hand-wringing, gnashing of teeth, suing Christians or filing charges against those of us who live in marriage reality will make us recognize your silly so-called “marriage equality.”

OMG it's the end of the world!  Now Christians aren't even allowed to use their privileged majority status to marginalize others without criticism???  Oppresshun, oppresshun!



Also, he has no idea what he's talking about, biology-wise.  Immutable reality of human biology is that... uh, I don't think there is one.  Mutation's kinda important in evolution. ;p
